ØNEW BOOKING OFFICES:


 

i)New Booking office at Parel (E) was opened on 13.05.2010 by shifting old booking office with 3 Thin Client UTS Windows, 2 ATVMs, 3 CVMs & Go- Mumbai validators.

 


ii)New UTS cum PRS Location has been opened at Vikhroli (towards Kalyan end FOB) with 1 counter in one shift on 24.06.2010, thereby now there are 42 PRS locations over Mumbai Division.


 

iii)Renovated Booking Office on Platform No. 6 at Dadar opened on 09.07.2010.

 


iv)New PRS have been opened in Sion and Mumbai GPOs by Hon’ble MP, Shri Gurudas Kamat on 21.09.2010. Thus, there are 7 PRS locations provided in GPOs over Mumbai Division.

 v)New booking office with 4 counters constructed near middle FOB at west side of Dombivali opened during September, 2010 

vi)One additional UTS window has been opened and one additional CVM has been provided at Khopoli. One additional UTS window at Nerul (W) has been opened.

vii)New PRS Window: A 2nd PRS window at Mumbra has been opened in two shifts w.e.f. 24.11.2010. Thus there are now 166 nos of PRS windows in Mumbai Division.

viii) 2 Additional UTS Windows have been provided at PNVL w.e.f. 13.11.2010 to clear extra rush, thus there are presently 419 UTS windows in Mumbai Division.

ØImprovement to FOBs

i.The staircase steps of the FOBs at Ghatkopar (Kalyan end, east-side), at Thane station (PF No. 4. Mumbai end of PF No.5/6 and 3/4), Bhandup, Vikhroli, Kalva and Chembur (Vashi end) improved by providing anti-skid tiles.


 ii) New Staircase constructed at Masjid Platform no. 1 & 2 (KYN end) connecting to ROB 




ØRaising and resurfacing of PF surface


 

i)   Raising and resurfacing of
     PF No.4 at MLND and PF No.1
     at KCE has been completed.

 
 

    ii)  Platform No. 4 of Mulund has been raised and improved by using Kota stone.

 





iii)Mulund, King’s Circle, Bhandup & Dadar Stations raised and Improved using Kota Stone & Anti-Skid Tiles.

ØConstruction and renovation of toilet blocks:

i)Toilet blocks at Ulhasnagar on PF No.2.



ii)Modular Toilet constructed at Chunnabhatti Station.



iii)New Toilet Block constructed at Dadar on PF No. 3 & 4 (BB end) with Ultra Modern Amenities, giving an aesthetic look of Cottage.


iv)New Toilets constructed at Kalva, Thane and King’s Circle stations.


 v) Polycarbonate Cover sheets have been provided over entry to platform no. 16, 17 anzd 18 at CSTM (south side) 
 Perspex sheets have been provided at CSTM Suburban Concourse due to which the illumination has improved and there is a saving of energy as the lights are not required during the day time. 
 Extension of COP: Extension of COP on Platform No. 2 at Kalva has been completed 
 Provision of COP: COP has been provided at Kopar station. 

New Graphical LED based Train Indicators

Train Graphical Indicator System with full name display has been commissioned at 19 Stations:

1) Mumbai CST, 2) Dadar, 3) Sandhurst, 4) Kurla, 5) Mulund, 6) Diwa,7) Thakurli,8) Khadavli, 9) Vasind, 10) Asangaon, 11) Atgaon, 12) Khardi, 13) Ulhasnagar, 14) Vangani, 15) Neral, 16) Kalyan, 17) GTBN, 18) Panvel & 19) Ghatkopar.







·Full Graphical type Pilot indicator at Ambernath station has been commissioned at East and West side booking office showing full destination of train.

ØAdvance Next Train Indicator System:

Advance train indicator for showing information of next five suburban trains for main line and harbour line have been provided separately in suburban area at CSTM. Similarly, it has been provided at Kurla, Thane, Kalyan & Ghatkopar. information of next five trains of UP & DN direction are displayed separately.



5 Digit Train No’s , 1ston Indian Railway:

·Upgradation of Arrival / Departuredisplay boards and At a glance boards with five digit train no. at CSTM, Dadar, LTT, Thane, Kalyan, Panvel and Lonavla is done.

·Modification in Software for PC based announcement system with five digit train no. at 15 stations is done.





Convention LED Indicator Train Display system with full destination name:

·Graphical Indicator display board showing full destination name has been commissioned Vithalwadi, Ambernath, Badlapur, Shahad, Ambivali and Titwala station with main PF indicator module.

Convention LED type Suburban Train Indicator:

·4 Nos. of double face Cluster LED based Suburban indicators are installed & commissioned KYN end FOB at Vikhroli station.

·Old Suburban Train Indicator System is upgraded at 2 stations (Vadala,Diwa).

PC based announcement system:

·PC based announcement system is provided at Vangani station.

·Old PC console for digital announcement & indicator operation are replaced at total 5 stations (CHF, TKNG, CMBR, GV & BEPR stations)



CCTV survelliance system:

·CCTV survelliance system for Queue Management during summer rush period at 4 Stations with total 96 cameras have been provided.

·Old CCTV camera surveillance systems on hiring basis are replaced by M/s Zycom at various 50 stations between Masjid to Kalyan section and Harbour section.

·15 nos of IP CCTV cameras for tout monitoring commissioned at Passenger Reservation system, Mumbai CST.



Old refreshment room has been renovated to “Jan Ahaar” for passengers at CSTM, which is spacious and giving a fresh green-lemony look. It provides ample space where passengers can sit and dine. Take away counter has been provided on the ground floor.




 
Two Golf Carts type battery operated four-seater vehicles for ferrying physically challenged and senior citizens within the station premises at CSTM is provided free and commuters avail of it by dialling 9004292222


Mumbai Division has got a sanction of Rs. 4.86 crores from the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India for Architectural Theme Lighting of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Building. This is the first project on Indian Railways being done with 100% funding under Central finance assistance provided by Ministry Of Tourism.

Installation of LCD TV in EMU Coaches:

A proposal has been received from M/s Yash Enterprises for LCD TV installation in EMU Coaches. Extracts of the proposal are given below:

·Two LCDs per coach at extreme two ends.

·LCDs will run number of advertisements, social awareness issues, Railway Map, new alerts by Railways and important notices.

·Party will take necessary security measures & full responsibility of any loss or damage of LCDs.

·Party will rake proper care so that these LCDs would not hamper peace of passengers’ Journey therefore sound will be muted (off).

·Benefits to Railway :

i.Generate revenue through advertisements.

ii.Important alerts to passengers.

iii.Awareness to public on social issues,

iv.Will act as a medium of communication for Railways.

·For a start run to install around 8-10 LCDs in one local train for 3 months on any route.

·Size for demo is 22 inches i.e. 2 feet x 3 feet.
